Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (ESV)
God has the power to heal. Christ is a physician who heals us by his blood, stripes, and wounds. The words “bind up” in the verse comes from the Hebrew word “chabash” which means “to tie, bind, to restrain, to bandage”. “Heal” in Psalms 147:3 is the Hebrew word “raphe” meaning, “to heal, to sew together or mend.” Christ mends us from the inside out. We do not see this mending but it occurs. I am comforted knowing that when I deal with heart ache or pains emotionally or physically, that God the Father can heal me. There were a few times in my life when I had to pray that God would change my heart and heal me from my wrong thinking and wrong desires. God had to change me from the inside out.
This song goes perfectly with this!
